SDL Group and Coronavirus (Covid-19) – An Update

Following the tightening of measures announced by the government earlier this week, we wanted to take this opportunity to update you further as to what we’re doing across the SDL Group to protect our team and customers while doing everything we can in the fight against Coronavirus. The situation is obviously still evolving, but here are the latest updates from our businesses: SDL Auctions Our Birmingham auction (Wednesday 25th March), our Derby auction (Thursday 26th March) and our Leicester auction (Friday 27th March) – were all broadcast via live video feed from our website with bidders able to carry out telephone, proxy or internet bids to secure their purchases. We have set up an auction room in our Chilwell office where Andrew Parker will conduct the auctions in the usual manner. We have set up the rostrum as if we were at our usual venues and our audio-visual team have cameras in place for our live stream. In addition, we have now taken the decision to hold our April auctions in Nottingham and Manchester via live video feed only. As with this week’s auctions, this will mean all our bids will be received via the internet, proxy or telephone, however, they will be held behind closed doors with no one able to attend in person. Wise Living Our priority as always is the wellbeing of our customers and people. All our offices are now officially closed to everything except absolutely essential tasks that cannot be completed from home.   Last week, we introduced extra precautions for any visits to our customers’ homes, with hand sanitizer available for all. However, from the 25th March 2020, we will only come to your home in the event of an emergency, maintaining a physical distance of 2 meters at all times. We are in touch with our offices every day and keeping them updated with the latest government guidance. If you have a running sale with our office, we will work with to ensure the sale is secure. We are continuing to market properties locally, nationally and internationally. We have the added advantage of marketing properties on our Century 21 global website for overseas buyers or tenants and will continue to market properties on Rightmove or Zoopla. In-person viewings will not take place over the lockdown period. We are working with offices on virtual tours, whilst strictly complying with social distancing.
